College of Medical Technology Celebrates Gowning, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony
The College of Medical Technology of Iligan Medical Center College held its much-awaited Gowning, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony last Friday, May 22, 2026. The event was a meaningful occasion for students, faculty, and families, marking an important step in the journey of future medical technologists.
The ceremony highlighted three traditions that symbolize the students’ readiness to embrace their calling. The gowning represented their transition into professional practice, the pinning stood as a badge of honor and responsibility, and the candle lighting reminded everyone of the values of compassion and service that guide the profession.
Parents and loved ones proudly watched as students took part in the rites, while faculty members expressed their support and encouragement. The atmosphere was filled with joy, pride, and reflection, as the community came together to celebrate not only academic achievement but also the deeper commitment to serve others through healthcare.
The College of Medical Technology continues to uphold its mission of preparing graduates who are competent, compassionate, and dedicated to making a difference in society. This year’s ceremony was a reminder that behind every skill learned is a promise to care for people and bring light to those in need.
