IMCC AND GLOBAL PARTNERS SUPPORT LOCAL COMMUNITIES

SDG1 SDG2 SDG17

March 10, 2026 | Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC) continues to strengthen its commitment to community service through collaborative initiatives with both local and international partners.

Leading the activity were Dr. Royce S. Torres, President of IMCC; Mr. Johnnel S. Cagod, MPM, Dean of Student Affairs and NSTP Coordinator; and Ms. Esmeralda R. Padagas, Head of the Community Extension through ICESDev. They were joined by staff members Sir John Michael Agad and Sir Ceaser Padilla, whose participation further demonstrated the institution’s unified support for outreach and service programs.

Walter Bock, a past president of the Rotary Club of Burwood, and Allistair Bennet, the Community Program Coordinator of the Church of Scientology, were both quite kind and helped make the outreach activity possible. Their support shows that they all care about helping others and making the community better through strong collaborations.

The IMCC community also helped out in other ways. The College of Arts and Sciences gave noodles and other things to be given away, while NSTP students held a donation drive to collect rags and clothes that could be used. This project, which was started by students, shows the spirit of volunteerism and civic duty that IMCC’s National Service Training Program promotes.

The collected donations were distributed to beneficiaries from Barangay Mahayahay and Ubaldo D. Laya, totaling 50 recipients receiving assistance during the outreach activity. The recipients were among the families affected by Tropical Depression Basyang, which developed on February 6, 2026, bringing heavy rains and flooding to several areas in Mindanao and the Visayas, most especially in Iligan City.

Iligan Medical Center College is still fulfilling its objective of service, compassion, and community participation through this collaborative effort. It gives students, professors, and partners the power to work together to improve communities and make a real difference in society.
