The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Northern Mindanao held its Regional Conference in IT Education (RCITE) last November 20-21, 2025, with the theme “𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙏 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝: 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝘼𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨 “. The event was held at Misamis University – Ozamiz, which was one of the sponsors of the said event.‎

The conference was attended by a diversity of colleges and universities in Northern Mindanao. Events included plenary discussions, research paper presentations for professionals, and abstract poster presentations for the students.‎

Graduating BSIT students Richard A. Espinosa and Antoniette D. Torrefiel participated in the poster presentation with their capstone project, 𝙀𝘾𝙊𝙋𝙊𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙎: 𝘼 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢. This project aims to incentivize plastic bottle recycling, projecting an increased rate of plastic waste recycling participation among individuals. Their project directly aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).‎

𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟭 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, like Mindanao State University-IIT and University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines -Jasaan, which both have 4 teams, and 2 teams from Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology.‎
