SDG11 SDG13

Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC) has shown solidarity with communities affected by Typhoons Tino and Uwan, which struck consecutively across the Visayas and parts of Luzon and Mindanao. The initiative is in partnership with the National Service Training Program (NSTP), the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC), and the local government of Iligan City.

According to Johnnel Cagod, IMCC Research Department head and NSTP Coordinator, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) nationwide are being encouraged to unite and respond to the call for help. IMCC has answered this call with full force.

“We’re calling on all NSTP graduates and encouraging schools to extend assistance,” said Cagod.

The donation drive began on Monday, November 10, and contributions will be collected by the Iligan LGU until 12 noon today, Wednesday, November 12.

Federico Gonzaga Jr., NSRC Coordinator and instructor at the College of Criminal Justice Education, emphasized that IMCC’s support will continue and urged the public to contribute in any way they can.

“If you have anything to donate for the areas affected by Typhoon Tino and Typhoon Uwan, our school is open to receive any form of assistance,” Gonzaga said.

A total of 60 donors have already contributed to the drive, reflecting the strong spirit of bayanihan and compassion within the IMCC community.
