Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC) held a thorough fire drill on March 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM, as part of Fire Prevention Month. The theme was “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa.” The activity showed how important it is for everyone in the academic community to work together to stop fires and be ready for emergencies.
The fire simulation was like a genuine emergency, so students, instructors, and staff could practice how to get out of the building safely, follow the right exit routes, and obey safety rules. The way that participants worked together and quickly showed that IMCC is still committed to creating a safe and disaster-resistant environment.
After the drill, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection’s San Miguel Fire Station held a Fire Awareness Symposium. Fire Station Commander SFO2 Mark Anthony M. Omococ led the session and taught important things about how to prevent fires, how to spot hazards, and how to respond correctly when there is a fire. We also talked about useful techniques for lowering the risk of fire at home and at school.
The activity was attended by all students, faculty members, and staff, reflecting strong participation and collective engagement. Through this initiative, IMCC reinforces its advocacy for safety, preparedness, and community cooperation proving that in fire prevention, no one stands alone.
