The Iligan Medical Center College conducted a Tree Growing Activity and Coastal Clean-Up Drive on November 23, 2025. With the theme “IMCC Cares: Growing Trees and Greening Communities, Building a Better World.” The activity took place at the Esplanade in Barangay Santiago, Iligan City, and gathered approximately 420 participants composed of IMCC – NSTP facilitators, NSTP students, NSRC students, ROTC students, IMCC 4th year Nursing students assigned for first aid readiness, and 1002 CDC personnel. The event started at 5:30 AM and ended at 8:45 AM, beginning with an orientation and reminders. Participants were instructed to bring bamboo splats to support the mangrove planting initiative, which serve to hold seedlings upright, protect them from waves, strong currents, and wind, and increase their survival rate in coastal rehabilitation areas. A total of around 1,000 mangrove propagules were successfully planted along the coastline, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation and community involvement.
