Wela Trains IMCC Faculty on Online Enrollment and Grading System

SDG4 SDG9

As Iligan Medical Center College advances its use of technology and digital solutions to give students faster and easier access to enrollment and grades, Livro Systems Inc. conducted a training on Wela Online School Management System for faculty and staff on November 21, 2025 at the IMCC Review Center. The activity formed part of the college wide transition to a fully integrated digital platform for enrollment, grading, and academic records management.

Around 60 faculty and staff members, composed mainly of deans, program coordinators, and faculty representatives from various colleges, took part in the session. Participants received an overview of the Wela Online School Management System, its core modules, and its role in streamlining academic and administrative processes across the institution. The resource team walked the group through the end to end online enrollment workflow. The demonstration covered account creation, subject loading, section encoding, verification of student data, and real time monitoring of enrollment status. Participants performed guided exercises that allowed them to navigate the interface, view sample class lists, and validate student information within the system. Emphasis rested on the responsibilities of deans and coordinators in the digital enrollment cycle. The activity highlighted accurate encoding of course offerings, proper tagging of prerequisites and corequisites, and timely approval of student loads. Faculty participants also reviewed their role in updating class information and coordinating with offices that handle admissions, registrar functions, and finance.

The session also introduced the upcoming grading functions of Wela, which the college plans to implement after the online enrollment phase. Faculty participants viewed how grade entry, grade submission, and grade verification will appear in the system. The roadmap for full deployment placed strong focus on data integrity, privacy, and clear internal protocols for the handling of digital records. Feedback from the participants reflected appreciation for a more unified and less paper dependent process. Many expressed confidence that Wela will reduce duplication of work, lessen errors from manual encoding, and provide administrators with timely data for decision making. Suggestions on additional orientations at the department level and user support materials will inform the next steps of the rollout.

Through this initiative, Iligan Medical Center College reaffirmed its commitment to innovation in academic services and responsible use of educational technology, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 Quality Education and SDG 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
