The IMCC – Office of the Dean of Student Affairs and Services actively participated in the Zonal Public Consultation on the two (2) proposed Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Orders (CMOs): (1) Pathway to Health and Well-Being in Higher Education and (2) Policies and Guidelines Against All Forms of Hazing Affecting Students’ Well-Being of HEI-Based Fraternities, Sororities, and Other Organizations. The consultation was held on January 19–20, 2026 at Dusit Thani, Bo Pampanga, Davao City, and was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, OSAS representatives, and CHED Representatives from the Regions IX, X, XI, XII, and the Caraga Region, highlighting strong inter-regional collaboration and shared commitment to student welfare in higher education.
The two-day activity primarily focused on an in-depth consultation process, where participants were given the opportunity to review, analyze, and provide substantive comments on the proposed CMOs. Through structured discussions, open forums, and collaborative exchanges, participants shared best practices, raised concerns, and proposed refinements to ensure that the policies are responsive, inclusive, and grounded in the realities of higher education institutions. All comments, insights, and recommendations raised by the participants were carefully documented and well noted by the CHED panel and the secretariat, reflecting a transparent and participatory policy-development process.
The consultation underscored the vital role of policy-making in safeguarding and promoting students’ holistic well-being, both physical, mental, emotional, and social. The open forum encouraged a dynamic exchange of brilliant ideas, reinforcing the collective responsibility of higher education institutions to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments.
